Farwell to Stampin' Up...but not MY demos!

I am soooo sorry for not posting yesterday. I needed to give myself 24 hours to think before I could write. I almost always just blurt things out without thinking and that gets me in heaps of trouble!!! :) Because of the sensitive nature of this post, I wanted to gather my thoughts first. Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my entire life- and I have had a few. We all knew that layoffs were coming. We had been told almost 30 days prior- but nothing can ultimately prepare you for it. I had seen and overheard a few things at the office that led me to believe I would be leaving. I felt prepared....until they called me in. They were generous in their severance for me. I respected that. I came out of the room and all my team mates were crying for me. I never felt closer to each of them. I cannot even begin to describe how much I will miss each of them. And I won't be able to pull myself together and finish this if I do. I walked into a conference room, called Teresa (my wife) on the phone and I sobbed like a baby for 10 straight minutes- I have rarely in my life experienced such pain and anguish coupled with a wee bit of anger :) I felt like I had failed my family. But I got it out and that was that; no looking back. I have been asked a lot if I feel like things could have been handled differently? Sure I do. However I do also understand that it was a difficult day and there really wasn't a good way of doing any of it. I hope SU does not have to go through this ever again. I wish much success to the company. I have a few other things I want to say:
First of all let me say, I LOVE every SU! demonstrator I have ever had the privilege to meet. I have formed friendships that I know I will have for the rest of my life. I have loved being able to talk to so many demonstrators at events and they just make being away from home so much easier because I always feel like I am with family. Makes it a little easier to be away from my little chickens (kids). My heart was truly warmed today when I literally received hundreds of calls, emails, blog entries, posts, and texts from demonstrators. I have felt your prayers all day today as I have struggled to make sense of all of this. So keep those prayers coming! I need every one of them :)
I LOVE Stampin' Up!, as a company. I strongly believe in it and what it stands for. Shelli Gardner created an incredible company and in doing so created many lasting memories for me. I respect her enormously. She has always treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. Once I even sat next to her on an airplane (I know, how jealous are you?) and talked her ear off (imagine that- me? Talking an ear off?) and she didn't even complain one time! Wow! Shelli loves every single employee and more importantly, every single demonstrator.
I LOVE the people I have worked with for the past 5 years. What incredibly talented people. I am sad for every single person laid off-very talented, dedicated people. I would love to say I understand why it had to be this way- but I do not and may not; not yet anyway. But what's done is done.
I LOVED picking the kids up from school yesterday for the first time ever. Malorie said "So did they give your job away?" I said "no but they did send me on an extended vacation." She was ecstatic! I looked in the rear view mirror and saw all three kids lined up across the back seat laughing and playing, put my sunglasses on and cried the rest of the way home with a giant smile on my face. Man I love those three rotten little things!!! :) I picked them up again today and loved it again. But also said " Don't get too used to it. Daddy loves it but Daddy needs a job! " :)
I will keep finding inspiration in little things, and finding ways of staying in touch so we can continue to bless each other's lives. And if you need somone to clean your stamp room- I am your guy! (mostly cause I am unemployed-ish) I hope our paths cross many more times throughout our lives and God willing, I know they will.

Jaron,
How awesome it is to hear your positive outlook! Your littles are lucky to have a daddy who loves them and thinks of them centrally in a time like this! Our prayers are with you!

Well done Jaron. What a positive outlook and classy farewell. We will truly miss you, your ideas and especially your humor.

If you're ever in Virginia, I can always use help with my stamp room! How entertaining would that be!?! LOL

I've been in your shoes and can tell you that it was the best time of my life being between jobs. While looking, I found SU and started my businesses. Most importantly, I spent lots of time with my family that I treasure to this day. Enjoy it as long as you can.

Best to you always. You ROCK!

Jaron...I am sooooooo sorry this happened to you and you are the most upstanding person to not even have one single negative thing to say about SU even though they let you go and for that I have the upmost respect for you. You are a very talented and loving person and I know GOD has something better in store for you. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. Maybe your family needed you at this point in your life..

I will miss seeing you at convention! Hearing your jokes and your entertainment...but most of all I WISH YOU THE BEST IN ALL YOU DO!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Good Luck!!

Jaron,
You are going to be the one I miss the most at regionals. You always presented great ideas with great humor. Keep your chin up--great things are sure to come your way!

What a class act -- and how wonderful that your great family is there to support you. We will miss you and that's why I've chosen to look at every sale I make right now as my little way of helping to bring some of you layed off folks back to SU. I hope it's just temporary and thanks for being so positive. You have taught us all so much and each time I write in my creative inspiration journal I will think of you. And don't get me started on Coke cans -- can't look at those the same anymore at all. Enjou your wife, enjoy your kids -- and find a great job, but not too great so you can come back to SU one day!! You will be SO missed at regionals and convention! You were by far my favorite presenter. I just saw you in Mpls. I have no doubt you will land on your feet! You're so creative and just downright funny, while you're betwwen things, have fun with your adorable kids--you know they're gonna LOVE this time with their dad!Keep us informed with what's going on! Good luck!

What a class act you are! I personally think you, Linda and Kristina should start your own "training" company and hold little mini camps all over the counry. People would pay to go to such a fabulous event. You could use SU products or anything else you wanted.

It would be grand and I would definately pay to go! Others who aren't as famous as you have charged up to $125 per person for a 4 hour class.

Just a thought!

It's a good life!

Wishing you nothing but the BEST. You were a WONDERFUL ASSET to SU! I have been to SU! events with and without you being there and definitly prefer them with you! This decision seems to puzzle everyone. Even tho being without a current job is stressful, enjoy this time with your children, it is a gift.

Jaron, we will all miss you at convention. Your humor, talent and style were a thrill for so many. And I can see that you still have that.

Last year, my husband was laid off from his teaching job and we spent two months wondering and worrying about whether he would be able to get it back. It was a bad time for us, but he was able to get his job back before the end of the summer. The one thing I learned from it is that if you have your family and friends around you and God as your stronghold, NOTHING else matters. I pray that things turn around for you rapidly and that you will find a new job that you love very soon.

WOW! I'm crying again and it's a huge flood of emotions! I'm heartbroken that I don't get to have my annual "picture with Jaron" at Convention (and all other SU! events), I'm filled with happiness that you get to spend this time with your little munchkins, I'm hopeful that we'll see you again! As others have said...You're a class act and we love you!

I have a stamp room that is in MAJOR need of organization...are you headed to North Georgia any time soon? ;o)

Thank you for everything you've done for SU! as a company, for us demonstrators and just for being the absolutely wonderful person you are! We've all been touched in a positive way by you entering into our lives and you will be missed tremendously!

God bless you and your family...prayers being sent up that this will be over very soon!

You KNOW that when one door closes, another one openss. You are so creative, classy, and have so much talent to offer, how can it not? Although it's a scary prospect being unemployed, you will do well in whatever finds you! You have become family to so many of us demonstrators....we may not have met you personally, or you us, but you are loved. There's lots of people praying for you....so, be sure to watch for that open door! And please keep in touch....you will be missed so much more than you know!

Enjoy your time off with your beautiful family and I am sure something new and wonderful will be just around the corner for you!

I found Stampin' Up! after I was laid off...you'll find something wonderful, too. You are SO wonderfully talented and I absolutely LOVE your sense of humor. I was sitting in the room the very FIRST time you presented at Convention and remember how nervous you were! You did great! Thanks for all the great memories...you will be missed. Hey...you should consider taking your "show" on the road! I bet you would "fill the house"! Creating with Jaron classes! I'd be there!

Hello Dear Friend -

Well written. I know it was so hard. You know I love ya, and I am so blessed that I got to work with you last year and get to know you better. You, Lori and Linda were SU to me...and it sure is a tough pill to swallow that you won't be there anymore. I hope this is a temporary situation, and I prey things turn around soon so that we might welcome you back. In the mean time, if I can help you in any way at all, please give a shout.
Enjoy spending time with the kids and Teresa. God has a plan for us all, and he has something AMAZING in store for you. Your talents will NOT go to waste. There is something HUGE on the horizon. I just can't help but feeling that it's our loss...and we miss you so much already.
Thank you for being you, and for being my friend.
Love you!

Sometimes kids can really put it all in perspective, can't they?? Your contribution to SU was ENORMOUS (as was the contribution of so many others who were laid off this week). You are greatly loved by all of us, and you will be greatly missed! Since I live just across town there is the possibility that we WILL run into one another (here's hopin'!) One of my FAVE pix from Convention a couple of years ago is you with me and my friends at the PJ Party . . . good times!! You continue to inspire us with your positive outlook and the fact that you can still maintain your sense of humor. Both attributes will take you far as you find somewhere else to shine . . . BIG hugs and many prayers from all of us!! (And you can come visit my stamp room ANY time, although I have to admit that it stays cleaner than ANY of the other rooms in my house . . . gotta have room to CREATE!!)

Jaron,

You have been such a joy to have around for so many years now that I am now kind of glad that I cannot attend convention this year...I would just simply miss you too much to bear!

I think you should take the Jaron Winder Show on the road and travel the country, organizing stamp rooms, training demonstrators, speaking at group meetings, and enjoying the country. Get a RV, pack up the family, homeschool the kids, love on your wife, and let all of us have the pleasure of hosting you and your family in our cities! I know Austin would love to have you!!!

Thank you for all the love, laughter, and music of live you have brought to the thousands of us who have had the honor or being your friends and audience. You are loved and will be missed at SU...but hopefully not in our lives.

Many blessings,

Cyndee.

Jaron,

I was so shocked at the news yesterday. I was saddened and felt like I was walking around in a dark cloud.

When reading your blog this morning, I was crying right along with you. This is such a sad time for so many people. Being let go by a company is so hard and a pretty depressing experience. I do honestly feel that things happen for a reason and that you have someplace that you are needed more at the moment. You just need to find that right place and work your magic there.

You are such a happy, uplifting person. Keep that going through the tough times. Just like you did when you were crying with the kids in the car but had a smile on your face. keep smiling and moving forward. This was definitely not something personal against you, it was a tough decision to cut some positions during tough economic times. YOU have been fabulous at your job and could not have done anything differently.

You will be missed by so many people. I, personally, have a stamp room that could definitely use some help up here in Vermont. If you are up for a road trip, you can come up and visit. There is a large group of demonstrators in the northeast that would probably love to attend a huge BBQ with you as the guest of honor!

Jaron - even in the midst of all this you are able to make me smile. Amazing. That's what I will miss about you - how you can always, always make me laugh and smile at every event and every presentation. As I said on Linda's blog, I just don't understand how Convention will exist without you, Lori, and Linda. It just doesn't seem possible and I know Convention, Regionals, and Leadership will never be the same without you guys. You will be sorely missed. Hi Jaron. You do not know me. I am a SU Demo and have met you and had the pleasure of watching you demonstrate at many SU events. I just read your post and cried. I also wanted to tell you that a year ago my husband and I were in a very similar situation and it was very difficult to understand at the time. However, just one year later, we are back on track and actually look back on that "vacation time" together as one of the happiest times of our 16 year marriage. Sure, it was scary, but at the same time very exciting to start something new and to see what lied ahead. When else, in the middle of your career, can you take a few months off to spend time with your family 24/7 -- not until you retire -- and you are a LONG way away from that! ENJOY this time together. ENJOY picking your kids up from school. This is just one experience in life that will make you an even better person than you already seem to be.

I am still shocked & stunned. I am not sure I will ever understand this decision. I know each & every SU! employee is loved & cherished & I so appreciate that. But, you?!? C'mon! They have to know you are the *BEST* presenter/idea man/most fun/funniest/inspirational/get-us-pumped guy they had. I can't even tell you how much you will be missed. Not sure I can bear Convention this year, honestly. I have only missed one in 10 years & it was b/c I had just had my 2nd son.

You are so talented & gifted in many ways. I know you have much success in your future. Until that next adventure arrives, enjoy the extra time with your beautiful wife & children. I had the opportunity to meet you only once at my one and only SU regional a couple of years back. Overall, I wasn't impressed by the regional. The one thing that I remember was seeing your presentation - it was incredible, funny, creative, entertaining, and the one thing that I remember the most about the whole experience. While I have forgotten many of the other bits of information from that day, your presentation shines brightly. You are an incredibly talented person, and from what I've read about you from others who have been around you so many more times, you're also an incredible person. I feel blessed and honored to have had the opportunity to see your work and to meet you. I wish the very best of luck to you in your new endeavors. As always, you are a class act. Thanks for letting us know your feelings in such a perfect way.
Your classes were always my favorite at convention. I just loved hearing all you had to say. I will miss you terribly.
That being said, I know you will be on to better things. Every bad thing has good things hiding behind it and I know you will find them!
You really should consider turning your blog into a money maker. There are many of us who seriously would pay to get class planners from OUR Jaron! I also would pay to hear you speak at an event in Missouri. I think I speak for many when I say that. Use what you have done at SU to build something of your own...you are a rock star!!!

24 hours to think is the best. I'm a "wear my feeling on my sleeve" kind of girl and know I need that kind of processing before I speak but I don't.

I hope to see you guys in SLC no matter what. I'm certain you can still register as a demo some come hang with us!!!!

I had a 3 minute, just before taking a hotel reservation where I thought...maybe I shouldn't go, then booked my hotel and I'm going to be in SLC in Aug.

Thank goodness for my busy and distracted day at work. Stress makes me work much better and I got alot done.

Now that stamp room thing. I have this total IKEA thing happening, in our spare room.....................

I have to dito Jeanette Swain's comments. This time out of work with your family may be some of your most precious days. My husband was laid off eight years ago. It brought our whole family closer. We all shared in the concern but knew somehow we would be ok. That's the peace that passes all understanding! The world would say you had better be angy, worried,... but God says just the opposite.
My prayer for you and your family and all the SU people laid off is that you experience that peace the world can't understand and an excitement to see what God has next in store for you. I bet it is something awesome!
I have been blessed by your presentations at convention last year. First year as demo, first year at convention. You will be missed.

JARON!! I am SO HAPPY YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED because have I got a STamp room for YOU!! You can design it however you wish!

WE are going to be turning my garage into my stamp room (or so I've been told for the last year and a half!hehe).

That would be SO awesome if you could come out here to Indiana (midwest) and design it for me! I have no clue how to do it and my hubby keeps asking me how i want it to look.

I don't know. I know I want awesome storage and lots of light. I think I'd like one of my walls to be rose red, regal rose, celery and chocolate chip. Can you say indecision?!

Keep me updated and if you get REALLY hard up, then I'd be happy to send a gas card your way and welcome you with open arms and FRESH sweet corn (depending on when you arrive)!

Hugs to you!

Jaron,
My heart aches for you and your family. I want you to know that you are in my prayers along with many others. I want to thank you for all of these years of dedication to the company and for your postitive outlook. I know that it must be difficult to still think so highly of the company. You have always been one of my favorite presenters. You will be very missed at convention. I really hope that they can bring you back soon nd that you would be willing to come back. I know I'm not the only one that would like to see you on stage again. You are so talented and I know that things will be ok again. Keep up the positive attitude and know that we are all praying for you. Thanks again for everything. Candice

Bless you and your family. You will be able to find another job and it probably won't take long and then you'll be wishing you were home with your beautiful family again. You are a great talent and will be sorely missed. Good for you for taking the high road and not being really negative about the whole thing. You may come clean my stamp room any time, however, I am also unemployed so I will have to pay you in stamps or an IOU! Good luck but you won't need it :)

Jaron, you are one classy guy! Your wife and family are blessed to have you, and I know you feel blessed to have them. I've been a demo for five years, but have been to only one regional...and you're the one I remember from that one! Of course, everyone who presented was fabulous, but YOU are the one I remember. You will certainly land on your feet...I firmly believe that God never closes a door without opening another one! I'm sorry that we never met, but I feel like I know you - your personality just shines in everything you do. Prayers for you and your family...and I look forward to hearing what's behind that door that's going to open for you! In the meantime, cherish every moment with those sweet kiddos!!

I am just at a total loss of words and able to overcome this shock! However, I want to thank you for your inspiration, creativity, sense of humor, and especially for sharing your heart with all of us. It sucks that you have lost your job, but we have lost a wonderful friend!

I attended my first regional event (Vegas '06) and that is where I saw you present for the first time. You made me laugh so hard that my face hurt! THANK YOU for making each event so much fun. I loved talking to you at each event and taking a photo with you too. So, thank you for the memories, I will miss you dearly. Take this time to enjoy with your little ones.

Hi Jaron, I've seen you only at Oakland Regionals last year and on the videos online....I think you're fabulous! I'm going to convention for my first time this year and am very sad that you won't be there! I think that you'd have a wonderful career ahead of you with maybe your own company or even better your own show on DIY!! If all else fails I have 2 very messy possible stamp areas and I'm desparate for help. I don't have much to pay you with other than friendship and Enchilada's! LOL I hope that there is a positive ending in all of this...rather I'm sure there is a positive future! Much happiness to you an your family! Inky Smiles, Michelle PS I've never posted on anyone's blog before so you're really extra SPECIAL! ;o)

Jaron,

I never had the pleasure to meet you as I was only a small hobby demo but I saw some posts on my favorites sites and was led to your blog. I have been waiting for over a year for the next axe to fall in our company. They have "reorganized" and laid off 3 times in the psat 2 years. I am sorry you lost your job at SU but perhaps there are more exciting things in store for you. With your inspirational attitude, we know you will be okay. BTW, love your blog and your family is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Enjoy a little down time with them....a new and exciting adventure of a new job will start soon enough ;-)

Take care and Bless you for being so resilient.

Jaron,
I, like so many others, am very disappointed, shocked and saddened by SU's decision to release you. My immediate question was what was SU going to do for damage control? Seriously, you have a following of dedicated demos who you positively affected. I am touched, yet again, by your kind words and positive outlook toward SU. I think given your popularity that SU should consider some sort of explanation to those of us who are shocked that they would let you go. Amazing.

I am so proud of your accomplishments, creativity, singing acumen, and love for both us and SU. You will surely find another creative outlook.

Although I do not need your services in my stamping room (probably like you, I cannot begin a project until my stamping room is cleaned up and organized), I would gladly share a cup of tea and my stamping supplies with you to create a new project. If you are ever in the DC area, please don't hesitate to call.

Enjoy this time with your family and God speed.

I was just reading another demo's blog and she wrote that you were laid off. WHAT??!! My most favorite presenter from Conventions??!! Impossible! I'm so so so sad to see you go. I know I am not alone in this. I wish you the very best in life and I know good things will happen to you because, simply, you are Jaron. And good things happen to Jaron. Stay positive. You're the best and you will be missed by ALL demonstrators at SU!!

Jaron,

I appreciate your positive outlook about this whole heartbreaking situation and just want you to know that you (as well as the other SU employees who were recently "let go") are in my thoughts and prayers. I can understand the need to take some time and get your head on straight before posting and making any comments on your blog.

It's so great that you have a blog and I definitely plan on keeping up with you via the blog. I can't begin to tell you how much we will miss you at convention! Jan Hoyt

Jaron you were my very favorite presenter! (dont tell the rest of them) You made me laugh and you made me cry (when you sang at my first convention in 2007) Barb my upline gave me tissues in my gifty bag and I said what are these for? She said you'll see. I didn't imagine I would cry but I did because your singing touched me right in the swell of my heart. Right now I cannot imagine a convention without you. I am hoping you will be there as a demonstrator at least so I can sneak at least a hug. I am sad but know that God will take care of you. I will keep you in my prayers and know that he will provide something even more enjoyable than SU. Follow your dreams and make sure you don't settle for less. You have made the difference for alot of us demonstrators and I hope we will see each other again. Hug all those chickens for us and enjoy the time you are spending with them now. You will be a hard act to follow and they will have to fill some pretty big shoes even if they do have spiderman on them! You never failed to make me laugh. Keep the faith.

Your positive spirit will get you through...well, that, your wife and chickens! I have more of a craft house (or as my neice says...crap house - she's 2-1/2 and trust me...it's cute) then a craft room and boy, does it need your help! You were the first SU emploeyee I met at the only convention I've been to, and you left such an impression on me with your friendliness and kindness. (They really are two different things). You are destined for wonderful things...and soon you'll find out what they are! My "crap house" will be waiting for you in Southern California - after I treat your family to a day at Disney! (Yep...I'm that close to it!) I can't wait to see where you land.

I've never gotten the privilege to sit and chat with you, but I honestly feel like I've known you personally after attending 4+ years of conventions and regionals. I've ALWAYS looked forward to seeing your presentations (especially after I found out what a big fan you are of So You Think You Can Dance!!!) You, seriously, could just recite the phone book and I'd have been there, with baited breath, eager to hear every comedic word. I'm sure that you are sorely missed over at the SU office, but I can guarantee that you are missed just as much by all of us "phantom" demonstrators.
I hope you continue to blog so that we all can still "keep in touch," and I must say selfishly, so that we can still enjoy your wit and matter-of-factness<---that even a word?

<3 you!!!

Jaron,
You will be so missed!

I want to share what a similar experience did for me and my family. 26 years ago my husband came home with his M&M jar and the family picture from his desk. He had a great paying job, great benefits and we had the world by the tail. It was a difficult economic time not as great as today. Our kids were in 8and 5 years old.

For us it was the worst time of our life, but if you ask our kids who are now 31 and 28 it was the best time of theirs. Funny when we were chatting a few years back and I asked them there most fond memories of growing up were it was during that time.

First they had their Dad home --- What could be better.

We shared with them that things were going to be different, but we were all together and that is what matters most... that was the hardest talk we ever had with our kids...harder than the birds and bees.

We could not afford to do the things we had done before so we would pack up a picnic lunch take a walk with the kids and eat under a near by bridge with lots of traffic. We did this little adventure several times a week and that is one of there favorite moments.

So take this time to create some wonderful memories for you kids they have time with you which is the biggest gift of all.

Our love and thoughts are with you each day Jaron.

I was so sorry to hear about you and some of the other primary "faces" of SU getting laid off. Your remarkable positiveness and lack of negativity is a great example to all of us. I will miss you at convention and regionals, you where always the hit of the show!

I've been laid off before, and it's not fun. But you have to have faith and believe that everything happens for a reason. Enjoy your time off with your family! I am sure you will not be laid off for long. And if you ever find yourself in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC, I have a stamp room that could really use your help!

Your kids are growing into very special individuals with your fabulous interactions with them.

I hope that your career with Stampin' Up! is just going to be a bit of a hiatus until this dang economy gets better. Of course, you never know what's around the next corner and I know you'll make the very best of whatever that is.

I bet you didn’t realize how many people you have touched in your short life thus far, which only means that you’ll touch and inspire even more as life goes on. Thank you for touching mine. We love you Jaron, and wish and pray the best is yet to come. I can see you winning American Idol, America’s Most Talented, your name on the marquee in Vegas for the best show in town, a traveling creative and inspirational speaker, building your own creative empire, and the list goes on. Your talents shared have been the highlight at events and I’ve always looked forward to see what you would do next. You are truly going to be missed, but I hope it is short term. When I heard the news about the lay-offs, I just couldn’t believe it. The news made me think back when I went through the same experience. It definitely is a shock that takes time to get through, but you certainly have a good outlook, and that will help make it easier to push ahead. Enjoy the extra time you have with your family while you pursue another amazing dream. After all, dreams can come true! Blessings, Karen

I have had the pleasure of meeting you a few times at Convention and I can honestly say it was always the highlight of my week. Walking around with friends, we were giddy with excitement wondering when we'd get to take our pictures with you! You were always friendly and accommodating, even when we asked you to hold weird props (like giant teabags) and your presentations were always hysterically funny. Anyhow, I just wanted to say I'm going to miss seeing you at future events. Enjoy this time with your family because I can bet you won't be out of work for very long!!! The SU family has lost a fabulous member of their team and I don't see how they can replace you. Oh ... and my stamp room here in sunny, warm, Southern California is in dire need of organization. Trisha that posted above beat me to the punch saying she'd take you to Disneyland ... I was going to say the same thing!! She's in upline's group so we can make it a big party! Jaron, Thanks for the wonderful post! It reminds of why I love you so much! I hope you know how much I love you, my downline do, they tease me by calling you my "boyfriend" cause they know how much I love and admire you!!
This situation was somewhat put into perspective for me, when one of my friends called the other night and left me a voice mail message that said "Did you hear about Linda, Jaron, and Lori? Very sad, huh?" I could tell she had been crying, and my knees buckled as the first thing that came to my mind was that the three of you had been killed in an airplane or car crash while going to a regional! The thought that you would be laid off never even entered my mind as I couldn't comprehend that (and still can't!). So when I called my friend back, my fingers shaking so much I could hardly press the numbers, and she told me that you all had been laid off, you can't image my relief! I know that might sound weird, but I was so happy that you were all alive and safe, that the lay off just didn't even seem like a big deal right then. It of course has sunk in since.
As talented as you are, the little chickens really shouldn't get used to you picking them up, unless you get something so fantastic that it allows that too!
I offered it to Linda too, if you (and your family :-) ) need a vacation before you start your next great adventure in life, I've got a guest bedroom here in Hawaii!
Love, Jacque

Wow! I'm in total shock of you being layed off! The Denver Regionals was my first event as a demonstrator, having only joined months before. From that event you made a HUGE positive impression on me. I gotta say that you've got to be one of the funniest, entertaining, and most genuine people around. I believe it was the Denver regionals that you told the story (sorry I don't remember it exactly...) about your daughter and shopping for a gift for her while you were away and that gift being a purse?? Anyway, it was funny and classic you. The only other time I got to see you was at the Denver convention. You still, if not more than before, were entertaining and a bright spot in the day of events. I don't understand how SU! could let you go. You must have a huge following, and you must have been part of the draw for convention(s). Things that make you go, "hum". (sp?) So, best of luck, and I'm sure your sense of humor and happy-go-lucky nature will take you far. Dana

Like everyone else I am extremely sad that you are no longer at SU! Your classes and presentations at Convention, Regionals and Leadership were always a highlight for me. I was at your very first presentation at Convention a few years back. You were great then but your talent grew over the years.

Thank you for everything you have done to inspire and educate all of us demos. I hope you are starting to get a glimpse of just how much you mean to all of us! I can't help but thinking back to Leadership in Houston when you Linda, Bonnie and Jill sang For Good. It brought tears to my eyes then and today it just means so much more. about how to organize it!

Hi Jaron - I am an SU! demo who has had the great pleasure of attending events where I was lucky enough to learn from you.

This sounds cliche - but, I really believe it is true. I was "let go" a couple of months ago, cried for 10 minutes and realized my own future was in God's hands and just shrugged it off and let Him lead the way.

I found the best job (for me) and love it - remember... when one door closes, another opens.

YOu're so great and will be super valued where ever your next adventure leads you.

I will never go to West Edmonton mall again without "looking for stamping inspiration" again, at least that's what I'll say when my dh calls me.

Thank you so much.

I truely admire your poise and attitude in dealing with this difficult situation. I can empathize with you since I too was recently laid off from a company that I spent 8 years helping to improve. It hurts to feel that you are no longer needed. The real truth of the matter is that at the end of the day someone had to leave. If not you then someone else.

You are in a fortunate position to learn first hand that with challenge comes opportunity.

Case in point, I recently landed my dream job- a job that I wouldn't have even applied for if I hadn't been laid-off.

I believe that you too will find a way prosper from this terrible situation.

Best of luck to you and your family. We are all rooting for you!

Jaron---I am SO glad that I was able to have my picture taken with you at convention last year (my first convention!) It truly will not be the same without you. The first time I saw you was a Milwaukee Regionals last spring, and you were my favorite part of the entire event. I then looked forward to your presentations at convention more than ANYTHING else. You are awesome!! I am among the group of people who would seriously pay money to still be inspired by you....whether it be online, in person, WHATEVER! I have friends that have been begging me to start a facebook page, and I have flat out turned them down for months! Now that I know there is a Jaron Winder group on facebook....I think that just might put me over the edge to join!!!

I will really and truly miss you at SU events.

May God bless you and your family, and please keep us informed on what is happening in your life. We really care about you and your family!!

Something wonderful will come your way. God Bless you and the family.

I loved the "ME" scrapbook that you shared at convention in August. I thought I should share the following with you, but it never felt right until about two months ago and then I have been spending time trying to find your blog.

Last year (January '08) we found out that my aunt had terminal cancer & she passed away in October. After convention, I showed her the idea & that I thought that we should make one for her. That is when we realized that your wife taught her youngest son piano for a period of time.

I share this only to let you know that you have touched many lives with that one idea and we will forever be grateful.

I also wanted to thank you for the inspiration that you have shared with us over the years. Without it, I am not sure if our family would have the wonderful scrapbook to look at and remember all of her favorites. I will be forever grateful. You will continue to be in my prayers.

these are humbling times but i know you'll be okay, you are way too talented to be out of the job market for long. good luck wishes

Jaron,

I don't know what to say. I echo so many others who have already commented. Thank you for being so respectful during such a tough time. Thank you for always being positive & accommodating (especially to a stalker like me who has made sure to get a picture with you at every event I've attended).

I wanted to share one of my favorite memories of seeing you at an event. Oddly, it was not when you were presenting. It was at the pep rally night one convention. My friend/downline & I ran into you and of course had to get a picture. While we were posing with you, we commented on how unusual it was to see you in a WHITE shirt and KHAKI pants. You became very animated - saying that you didn't even OWN a white shirt & had to buy it just for that night! LOL It really seemed like you may have been breaking into hives wearing such "pedestrian" attire. :-)

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself & your family with us all over the years. You will be sorely missed. And I do hope our paths will cross again in the future.

If you're ever in the Chicagoland area, let me know. I could definitely use some help with my room!

Jaron, I was shocked (and very sad) to hear this morning that you had been laid off. I've been a huge fan of your work since seeing you stamp at the Sydney Regionals in 2007. I just wanted to say, I think you have a HUGE amount to offer Stampin' Up! Demos and I wonder if you would consider continuing to train us through your blog (like, offering paid stamping tutorials and business training, etc). I guess I'm thinking something like what John Sanpietro does for us, but you would be offering us so much more because you can stamp! I'd love to continue enjoying your work and the knowledge you have been sharing with us. I'll be an avid reader of your blog now that I know it exists! Thank-you for all you have done for us and may God bless you richly through this very sad time. My prayers are with you and your family

Jaron, I just want you to know that I live in NYC and attended the Convention last year for the first time. I still have the email you sent to little ole' me thanking me for the card I gave you at convention last year. I saved it on my computer because people couldn't believe I actually got an email from the infamous Jaron Winder!

I have an idea: I think that Stampin' Up! should hire you for our entertainment this year at convention. You can now get Independent Consultant fees, which are always higher than regular pay! What do you think?

You will always be at the top of my list of favorite people, Jaron.

Take care,

I have to admit that this is the first time I've read your blog, but it definitely won't be the last.
I've seen you at two of the east coast regionals, as well as at the last convention. I have to say that of all the people there, you always seemed to be the highlight. Your wonderful personality just came out. Some of the wonderful ideas I've gotten from you include the adorable bear with his arms waving up and down, and those wonderful scrapbooks you made, talking about a list of things about your beautiful wife.
I am so sorry tohear that this happened. This economy just really seems to be hurting so many people. I have a son ready to graduate college, and the prospects are quite grim. I was surprised to see that you have only been with SU for 5 years, and guess that that means that you've been successful in other jobs, so I know that you will come through this landing safely on both feet.
I am a teacher, and near the end of my very first year, I was excessed, being low man on the totem pole. I cried and cried, much as you did, but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I've been happy in the job that followed for the past 28 years. I wish the same for you!
Enjoy having some time with your kids. I'll be checking your blog to see how things turn out.

I have worked in Corporate Ameria for the last 12 years with two different companies and have been exposed to corporate layoffs. As I read your post my heart just broke for you.

You have been such an amazing inspiration and asset to me as a demonstrator. I always learned something from the presentations and demonstrations you did.

This is a very sad day in the history of Stampin' Up!.

I wish you well and please know that you and your family will be in my prayers.

Convention/Regionals will not be the same without you.

On a side note, my stamp room is a DISASTER. Organization is not one of my better qualities...hehe.

Good luck and God Bless you and your family.

You are one classy guy! Your personality will surely make your transition to a new adventure (read in "job") much easier than for a grouchy, boring person ;-) I hate to sound cliche but you are a young, vibrant guy and this window closing has got to be a step towards a bigger door opening for you. There's this quote I use a lot and it goes "change is often painful but is absolutely essential for growth". You probably cannot even imagine, at this moment, how this change can cause growth but it will. Something will come up and you'll say "wow, had I still been with SU, I'd never have seen this opportunity" and all will be OK. There may be hurdles until then but simply KNOW that things will work out for you. Bless you at this time of change in your life from Stella MacKay (SU demo).

Jaron,

What can I say that others have not. :( It's disheartening to hear the news & not understand as a Demonstrator the complete thought process behind the decision.

I was very fortunate to go to my one & only convention in SLC the year that I started with SU & saw you in action! I never had a chance to meet you in person due to all your groupies! LOL! But I loved everything about the convention! I was like a deer in headlights when I attended. :)

You know that your following will not wain, you don't need to be associated with any particular company. You are your own brand!

How about taking a show on the road visiting cities that have not been reached before, or the obvious - start your own company.

I'd love to see you come to the Windy City (Chicagoland)& the suburbs here! I know your roots are in Utah, but you can come visit us any time! I'm sure a "Jarod" convention would be a hit & followers would be there from all over the country! OK, I'm really not trying to sound creepy, but it's true & you know it! You have a great following & I don't think it will end with your job at Stampin' Up!

Hey, how about "Jarod's Creative Room Organization to the Rescue" show. You could be like the show "Clean House" where you help organize & declutter gals or gents spaces. Mine isn't dirty, but it definitely needs to be organized. I'm great at buying things, but organizing all of my purchases is another thing! My room was built just for me & I really would love to have you come & help me organize it! You could tackle my room as your first challenge! :) Or what about a show on HGTV or DIY called "Jarod's Creations".

You have such a following that anything you do will be a hit! Your family is so lucky to have you as a wonderful Dad & husband! As you spend time with them, get those creative juices flowing & think POSITIVE about what your dreams are that you might have put on the back burner.

As many have said when God closes a door he opens a window. Maybe it is your time to shine in your own venture!

I hope that you will continue to keep your blog open & share your thoughts & feelings with all of us.

Know that we are here to listen & support you & your family!

Stampin' Smiles from Ear to Ear,
Ann :)

Jaron,
You will be terribly missed by so many of us! You continue to inspire and motivate us. I can honestly say that you made me a better demonstrator and encouraged my enthusiasm. I especially looked forward to your training at events.
I pray that you will find peace as you press forward through what currently feels like a trial. I hope that you are able to eventually look at this as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

Jaron,
I am going to miss you at convention SO MUCH! You are such a HUGE highlight and I was totally shocked when you were included in the layoffs. You make me laugh, you are so adorable and so very talented.
I hope that one day you will be back, in some capacity. We will all miss you tremendously! The next company that gets you, is lucky indeed!
Hugs,
Loree

I'm so very, very sorry, Jaron. I am a 10 year demo'r and I can't imagine a Convention without you. You will truly be missed and I wish nothing but the very best for you in all that you do. Please know how much you are admired and respected. And yes, we ARE your demos *Ü*

I was SO upset to hear the news!YOU were the reason I traveled to Utah, YOU were the reason I went to every regional near me, YOU were the reason I dragged my husband to Orlando in January! You are a wonderful person and I wish you the best of luck!It just won't be the same without YOU!

Bev Dahl said...

Thank you for being YOU.
You have been an awesome inspiration to a lot of people in the few short years you were with SU. You, Linda and Lori WERE convention. I know others that are talented will be there and will proudly pick up where you left off and continue on: inspiring us all to create to the best of our ability.
But you 3 especially, will leave a void in the experience.
Thank you for all you have done and if all of us Hobbyists get up and start working our business more wisely maybe you can be back sooner!
God be with you and your families.

Jaron,

Remember the Atlantic City regionals when you were sick? I am the demonstrator that brought you cold medicine.

I am very sad to hear of your news. You are my favorite presenters and I will miss your smiling face on stage. Maybe every once in a while you could send me a video of one of your projects? A little dose of Jaron is good every now and then.

I wish you luck in the job search. Please know that you were always a highlight of any SU event. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Jaron,

I have tried so many times over the last few days to write this post and every time I just start to cry and cry and cry. I am overhwhelmingly sad beyond words my friend....my heart is truly broken. You have helped me more than you will EVER be able to know in my business. You have given me opportunities, courage, wisdom, inspiration, many laughs and above all friendship and for all those amazing gifts and the many more I can not even begin to list here, I am so very grateful.

I will be in touch soon, but for now I want you know that I love you more than all the emblishments in China!!

Jaron,

I admire the way you stayed so positive even though I realize how tough this has got to be! I have always loved how enthusiastic you were on stage when you demoed! I hope things go well for you in the future, and just wanted to let you and your family know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time!

I was at the Seattle event on Friday and our table cheered when we saw you (and Linda) on the convention video. You obviously know how highly you're thought of based on all of these comments so check back here often if you're ever feeling down.

You brought so much light and fun to every SU event and you will be sorely missed. Come clean my stamp room anytime you want - I'll provide treats and unlimited diet coke!

I'm so shocked to hear of SU letting you go. I've been out-of-town and arrived back home to hear this upsetting news! I can't imagine convention or regionals without your cheerful, funny and helpful techniques. You're so creative and such an "entertainer", you've made a lot of boring classes, really exciting. While no one likes to lose a job, especially at SU where it seems you REALLY make friends, I'm sure given your talents and caliber of person, you'll find something another exciting job! I pray God will place something in your way quickly and alleviate your burden. Thank you so much for enriching my life! Mary Cargill, Reno, NV

God bless your little heart for finding a positive outlook in a sad and sucky situation. Your incredible personality just shines through your blog and reminds me of why you were such a pleasure to be around at SU! events. It was so nice to find your blog and read some news about you! (Wish I had found it way sooner, but the upside is that I now have a lot of nice reading material to keep me busy and smiling!)

I hope you get to spend some quality time with your children and then find a job worthy of your talent and that you will enjoy.

Oh, and I can definitely make a mess out of my stamping room if it can get you here in Quebec City! It's such a beautiful city, you should really take a vacation here with your wife and the kids, I'm sure you would all love it! I could show you around and talk YOUR ear off! haha! (As far as I know, we were never lucky enough to have you here for an event - well, Montréal, but Qc City is way prettier!! ;P)

I'm sending you all my best wishes and hope this turns out for the best for you. Bonne chance!

One of your many fans,
Cindy

I need a stamp room reorganization. Can you come to Arnold MO? Just kidding. I am so sorry about the SU job but can't help but think there is great things on your horizon! God never lets us down!! Good luck and thanks for all you have done to inspire me!!

Jaron, I am just 10 minutes south of Arnold, Missouri so you could catch two birds with one trip! Actually, I could probably set you up with three or four more in the area! Seriously, I was so disappointed to hear about your departure from SU and admire you for the way you are handling it publicly. It just shows what character you truly have. I know with your talent and personality you will land on your feet with something great that is heading your way! Please continue to post so that we can follow your wonderful family and career!

Hey- I missed you in Seattle. Your Blog brought me to tears. I haven't made it up to the third floor today, I just don't think I can take it, maybe tomorrow :( Good Thing Shannon came to my desk today.

Just like Shannon I am jealous of who gets to work with you next. Thanks for making me laugh!

Jaron,

As you can read on my blog (Under the pic. that is always displyed of you and I) you're my favorite SU! employee, so I'm sooo sad that you won't be around anymore. I hope SU! will ask you and the others back after things improve, but I know you'll land another job. You're an amazing, energetic person and surely a fantastic worker. I wish you and your family the best. Sometimes things that are at first horrible become a blessing. Maybe you can focus on a singing/acting career?!
Who will I stalk at SU! events for a picture now? haha I have 3 of the two of us!
Good luck, Jaron!

Jaron, I saw you recently at the Minneapolis regional seminar and loved your presentation! I am so sorry that you are laid off but you have so much talent and such a great personality that some lucky company is bound to hire you soon!

Jaron,
I am praying for you to find the next step in your career. I have found that the next step is even better than the last, and so I hope it is for you. We demos will miss your funny banter, your goofy mistakes during presentations, your salesmanship (we all own those darn ribbon cutting scissors because of YOU, you know...). God speed your way forward!

You, Linda, and Lori will be SO missed! I hope you continue your blog so I can "keep in touch". You have no idea how much I've enjoyed your demonstrations, your positive attitude, and YOU over the last several years that I've been a demonstrator. You and your family will be in my prayers daily!

You will do just fine. You are a talented presenter that will be in great demand. Remember you excel at a skill that most people are more scared to do than die. My paying job (SU demo is my spending job) is in the software biz and there is a lot of transition. Thus I have experienced serverl lay-offs. They always lead me to a better place. Enjoy some time with your family. Check out my friends site www.evenanerd. com. She is a talented public speaker that turned a lay off into a new career.

Jaron,

I just learned this evening that you were laid off from SU. It took me a little while to locate your blog and I am so glad that you have one. I want to let you know that you made the last 5 conventions I attended a WONDERFUL experience. You are so funny, so smart, so talented and BRAVE for getting up in front of a bunch of women and stamping your heart out. We will miss your creativity, humor and really cool outlook on life, stamping and things in general. I wish you all the best. I am sure that whatever you do, you will be tremendously successful. I am happy that you are able to spend time with your "chickens" they are so lucky to have a dad like you. On those rides home, crank up some Donny Osmond I remember you saying his music made your spirit lift! Hang in there. You will NEVER, EVER be forgotten. Fondly, Andrea in Denver

Jaron-
I have seen you at Regionals a couple times and even had my picture taken with you at the last one. I hope that you know how many people you touched the lives of while working at SU! You are so funny and positive and I hope that you continue to do well with whatever life gives you. Thank you for EVERYTHING!! My prayers are with you and your family!

Jaron, I will surely miss you at all of Regionals, Conventions and product videos! I remember the first time I saw you at a Stampin' Up! event. It was a break out talk at the Minneapolis Regionals. You had recently been hired and you had us laughing from the get go. I love your witty presentations, fabulous projects and enthusiasm. You were my favorite presenter at Stampin' Up! events. I am in denial that you were dismissed from Stampin' Up! I keep hoping there is a way for Stampin' Up! to hire you back. I event wrote to them about it. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do with your career. God bless you and your family.
